It’s been an action-packed week in Year 2 and we loved getting to finish it by celebrating all of their amazing learning this term.
Summary of learning
In maths, we started practicing the concept of subtracting 2 digits numbers (not crossing 10) using the place value mats.
In English, we edited out memoirs and we look forward to having a publishing party next week.
Our grammar focus has been the suffix -‘ment. For example: enjoyment, merriment.
In history, children loved dressing up as Kings, Queens, noblemen, merchants and peasants and discovering just how unfair life could be under the reign of Henry the VIII.

In Phonics, our focus sound this week is /oo/ and we have been recapping the /v/ sound. As ever, please read with your child daily using both the decodable books and reading for pleasure books. Phonics books will be changed on Friday 28th February.
In art children finished their clay models by making the bodies out of felt, sequins and feathers.
