This week has been packed with challenging and exciting learning experiences. We are incredibly proud of our Year 2 children for rising to the occasion with determination and a positive attitude.
In our art lessons, we have been exploring the fascinating relationship between famous artists and the music that inspired their paintings, learning new techniques along the way. Additionally, our studies in RE have continued with a focus on Islam, where we’ve been discussing the important value of honesty. The children’s enthusiasm and engagement in these diverse subjects have been truly impressive.
In English, we delved into the enchanting world of “Leon and the Place Between.” We’ve been exploring how to use prepositions and adverbs to enhance our sentences, making them more vivid and engaging. By incorporating these elements, our writing has become more descriptive and captivating, bringing the magical adventures of Leon to life in our words.
In Maths, we have been focusing on telling the time, a skill the children have found challenging. To reinforce their learning, we will continue practicing this important concept next week. Attached is this week’s math worksheet, which will help support your child’s understanding and practice at home. Worksheets Maths Sheets Week 3 , Telling the time games here and more here .

Talk PANTS: We would like to encourage parents to talk with their children about private parts at home. To support this conversation, please watch the provided video together and use it as a starting point to explain and discuss the topic. This can help ensure your child understands and feels comfortable talking about it. PANTS
Times table website: In our daily maths sessions we have begun learning our times tables. Please find a link here to a website that has times table games to practice: https://www.timestables.co.uk/2-times-table.html Your child’s NumBots login will also work for Times Table Rockstars. If you haven’t done so already, please start using the app with your child at home.
Reading books: Please make sure these are returned on Friday 5th July. The phonics books relate to the spellings we have been learning in class so please use them for any spelling practice alongside the reading.
Please make sure you return books on the day. You will incur a £5 fine if this isn’t returned. Your child will be given their new phonics book once the old one is returned.
PE: Please make sure that PE kits are in school each week and that kits are the correct PE kit for school: white t-shirt, blue or black jumper, blue or black shorts/jogging bottoms/leggings, spare socks and trainers.
