This week the Year 2 children have really impressed us with their fantastic attitudes to learning. The children have been busy writing and publishing their own Traction Man adventure stories. They have risen to this challenge and are applying powerful verbs and adjectives to add exciting detail to their writing. During Maths this week we have been partitioning single digit numbers into representations of parts and wholes. The children have worked hard to find all the parts of the different ‘fact families’. In our Art lessons the children have continued to create their paper mache sculptures inspired by their heroes- lots of sticky, gluey fun! Well done Skylarks, Robins and Swifts for another week of wonderful learning.

Here are some games and activities you can do at home with your child:Snakes and ladders , Capital letters and full stops.

Next week:

English- We will be working mainly on sentence level aspects of writing including verbs, adjectives and sentence construction.

Maths- We will be doing some collaborative problem solving and consolidating our knowledge of number bonds to 10.

Topic- We will be focusing on cracking codes and creating our sculptures.

Have a lovely, restful weekend,

The Year Two Team.
