Year 2 have had a fantastic last week of Autumn 1!

In English, we have been working on our writing showcase, where we have written our own ending to the Three Little Pigs.

In phonics, our focus sound this week has been /ee/ and we have continued to review different ways to build the /d/ sound.

In history, we wrote fact files of the trailblazers we learnt about this half term. The children then created portraits using oil pastels of one of the trailblazers: Mary Anning, Mae Jemison, Neil Armstrong and Christopher Columbus.

For our last forest school session, we created clay models of different animals we might find in the forest.

We were also lucky enough to have a special assembly on ‘Hidden Figures’, learning all about trailblazers in black history.

We will be celebrating Art Week on the first week back after half term, along with daily maths and phonics. We hope you have a wonderful half term break!
