Simply stunning learning in Year 2 this week- the Skylarks, Robins and Swifts have really impressed their teachers with all their wonderful work!

We have been continuing to write our own stories based on the Great Kapok Tree. The children have created some powerful stories- there are even ones with exciting cliff hangers! During Maths we have been adding multiples of 10 to any 2-digit number- the children were very quick to spot that the ones stayed the same and they could explain why (we’re not adding any ones)! Great explaining Year 2! In Geography we continued our learning about different climate zones. We used iPads and QR codes to do our own research.

There has been so much joyous learning this week- your teachers are VERY happy Year 2!

Next week

English- we will be finding out about the features of non-chronological reports and writing our own reports all about ourselves

Phonics- we will be working on /ow/ (crown and cloud)

Maths- we will be applying our knowledge of adding and subtracting multiples of 10 to real life concepts

Geography- we will be using our research about a climate zone to plan our own non-chronological reports

Art- we will be carefully drawing animals from the Polar regions

Have a wonderful weekend.

Warmest wishes,

The Year 2 team.
