STEAM Week 1!

What a wonderful week we have been having in Year 2, we have loved exploring all of our science learning together! It has been a joy to see the children working with such creativity and collaboration – we definitely have lots of future scientists, technologists, engineers, artists and mathematicians in our classes!

Our learning has been based on patterns in nature and we have used this theme to engage with numerous learning opportunities. Some of these activities have included: identifying trees and making leaf rubbing art, bubble experiments, bubble spells, tessellation art and writing a variety of poetry! We have also enjoyed a rainbow themed TastEd morning, were we created rainbow fruit salads. We will be displaying out STEAM learning in our class windows in preparation for the carnival on the 15th July.

Next week:

We start our second week of STEAM based learning – we know the children are as excited as we are! We also have our Parade and Carnival on Friday!

  • We are looking for volunteers for the Carnival Parade on the 15th July. We need about 2 parents from each class to support with this and help us walk around Eddington. More details will follow about the parade for everyone but if you are free and would like to help from 1PM to 3PM on Friday 15th please let us know.
  • Please complete the Ofsted survey below so that we get a full response about our school: https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/login?destination=give-your-views/survey/132298 You will need to register if this is your first time giving feedback about the school to Ofsted. Many thanks in advance.
  • Please can you help us by ensuring all children still  bring their hats to school and have a water bottle and snack.
  • We also want to remind that toys are not allowed in school as we have had a few problems with this in the last few weeks so please remind children to not bring them to school..
