It’s lovely seeing all the children back to school, rested and ready for learning.

This week in English, we have been focusing on poetry and writing a diary entry from the perspective of a cloud. We went outside and used our imaginations to visualise where different clouds have been around the world. We looked at a variety of settings from a birds eye view and wrote a description about them in a diary entry. Click here for extra practice: clouds-acrostic-poem-

In Maths, we have been recapping addition and subtraction. We identified which equations need regrouping and used the column method to help us get to the correct answer. Click here for extra practice: Addition and subtraction

In Topic, we have been learning about Richard II. We looked at his life while he was king and placed his historical events in chronological order.

STEM Day

On Wednesday, all of the children immersed themselves into the life of an engineer. They spent the day learning new vocabulary, planning and designing a soapbox racecar and then building it. Their imaginations went wild! They then had a lot of fun racing them. Everyone did fantastically!

Next week

In English, we will be focusing on the book ‘Tell me a dragon’ by Jackie Morris. We will be discussing all the different dragons in the story and writing a character description of our own dragon.

In Maths, we will be building on our knowledge of addition and subtraction.

In Topic, we will continue to learn more about the different Kings and Queens of England.
