We have had an action packed week in Year 2!
In English, we have been working on our Writing Showcase all week- information leaflets all about the Palace of Westminster. The children were all so excited to share these with you today for Family Friday.
In Maths, we have been learning how to subtract across a 10. Please find the week’s worksheets here: Maths W7 Subtracting Across 10. After the Christmas holidays, we will be adding and subtracting tens.
Today, the children performed in our Key Stage 1 singing assembly! They were fantastic and it was so wonderful to see that all of the practice paid off.
In Phonics, we have been building on the different spellings of the /n/ sound this week. Here are some words we have looked at: knead, know, gnome, gnat, dinner, done, bend, even.
Please see 100 high frequency words to help with your child’s spellings: First 100 High Frequency Words
We continued to learn about relationships and sex education in PSHE this week. Please see the letter on ParentMail for more information.
Christmas Jumper Day
Children are invited to wear Christmas/winter themed jumpers and headbands on Monday 18th December, when they will also be enjoying their Christmas dinner at lunchtime.
Phonics books were swapped today. Please make sure these are returned on Friday 15th December.
Please make sure you return books on the day. You will incur a £5 fine if this isn’t returned. Your child will be given their new phonics book once the old one is returned.
Please ensure your child has bought their PE kit home to wash over the Christmas holidays.
Last Day of Term
The last day of Autumn Term is Wednesday 20th December. This is a half day, so the children will be leaving at 13:30 this day.
