We have become experts about the Palace of Westminster this week!

In English, we continued our information paragraphs about the Palace of Westminster. We learnt about the House of Commons and the House of Lords and how it all works by acting it out. Next week we will creating an information leaflet using our paragraphs and we can’t wait to show you at Family Friday.

In Maths, we have been adding 2 digit numbers to 1 digit numbers across ten. Please find and image below and the week’s worksheets here: Maths W6 Adding Across Tens.  Next week, we will be learning to subtract across 10.

On Tuesday we went to see a performance by ‘Dip and Dab’. We loved it and had so much fun!

In Geography, we compared Cambridge and London focusing on population, transport and universities. Please find a link here to the live UK population that we enjoyed looking at this week.

In Phonics, we have been leaning different spellings of the /n/ sound this week. Next week, we will continue learning this and will change books on Friday 15th. Here are some words we have looked at: knead, know, gnome, gnat, dinner, done, bend, even

Family Friday

Family Friday is on the 15th December 8.30 – 9.15. We will open the door at 8.30 just for the children so we can register them. We will then welcome you in to share your child’s learning and books. We look forward to seeing you!

Reading books

Phonics books were swapped today. Please make sure these are returned on Friday 15th December.

Please make sure you return books on the day. You will incur a £5 fine if this isn’t returned. Your child will be given their new phonics book once the old one is returned.

PE 

Please ensure your child has bought in their PE kit for this half term. As the weather is changing, it is important that they have jogging bottoms and or leggings as well as a jumper.
