Year 2 have worked really hard this week!

In English, we have been revealing emotion in our writing by thinking about how the wolf felt when the pig glared and snarled at him. Next week, we will be creating our writing showcase ready for Family Friday!

In phonics, our focus sound this week and next week is /ee/ and we have continued to review different ways to build the /d/ sound. To learn more about how you can support your child with phonics at home, SoundsWrite are offering a free course for parents and carers: Support for Parents and Carers – Sounds-Write

In maths, we have been reviewing our number bonds to 10 and 20. We then used this knowledge to help us find fact families within 20.  Please find the maths worksheets here: Maths Week 6 Bonds to 10 and 20

In PRE, we recapped our unit so far on Christianity and kindness. The children then expressed what they had learnt about kindness through poetry.

In forest school, we created tallies of different types of trees and made our own nature spirals:

Year 2 have one week left of forest school so wellies will be coming home at the end of next week.

Children will also take their PE kits home next week to be washed over half term.

Family Friday

Friday 20th October is our first Family Friday of this academic year. As a reminder, please can family members come to the classroom door to register. As soon as you have registered that you’re here, you are free to take your child home or to a sibling’s class when you want to. If exercise books are taken home, please make sure they are returned on the first day back.
