We have had another amazing week in Year 2!
Art
In art this week, children had an absolute splash of a time exploring their creativity through painting. Inspired by their recent trip to Wicken Fen, they created fabulous flower designs that captured the beauty and wonder of the natural world they experienced.
In keeping with our eco-friendly ethos, the children used recycled materials, such as milk bottles as part of their creative process. These everyday items were transformed into imaginative painting tools, encouraging the children to think outside the box and explore texture, shape and pattern in new and exciting ways.
Maths
Our focus has continued to be on telling the time. Please press on the links here, here and here to have fun practicing at home.
English
Our young authors learned about prepositional phrases and adverbs of manner. Using these new skills, they wrote their narrative stories.
STEM
We explored the human heart, found our pulses, and discovered how to make them beat faster and slower.
Phonics
This week, we focused on the /t/ & /z/ sound and we reviewed the /k/ & /r/ sound.
Design and Technology
We explored the equipment we’ll use to make our puppets and got creative by designing our own.

Spellings:
Ensure your child can spell the year one common exception words
Then move on to the year two common exception words

Practice letter formation using the following sheets: Lower-Case-Kinetic-Handwriting-Sheets.
Notices
PE kit: Please ensure weather appropriate PE kit, including trainers, is in school.
Hot weather: please ensure children have a sun hat, sun screen and water with them now that we are in summer term.

Sports day- We are very much looking forward to sports day on Wednesday 2nd July 2025 at 8.45am-11.30am
