We have had another wonderful week in Year 2 this week! As part of our English learning, we have beenĀ reading the collection of poems titled ‘Cherry Moon’, focusing in particular on a poem titled ‘Life is Big’. We looked at the structure of poems and the vocabulary used in order to write our own poems inspired by ‘Life is Big’.
In Maths, we have been focusing on money, learning about pounds and pence, adding amounts of money together as well as finding the difference between amounts. Here is an example of Maths from this week: Examples of Maths Worksheets – w.c. 24.4
For our Computing lesson, we have started to apply our knowledge of coding in order to use a brand new resource that we are very lucky to have in school – robots! Meet Dash:
In PE, we have been working on ball skills, particularly focusing on passing a ball in pairs.
Next week (commencing Wednesday 3rd May 2023):
English: we will be working on practicing punctuation and grammar rules that we have previously learnt, including apostrophes for contractions and for possession.
Maths: we will be working on 2D shape.
Phonics: we will explore the spellings of /n/.
PE: we will be continuing our work on ball skills.
Well done to all of the children for another fantastic week of learning!
Very best wishes,
The Year 2 Team.
