We have had a brilliant first week back after the Easter break. We have two new projects: computing and design & technology. Computing had us exploring the robot Dash and in design & technology we delved into the world of soap box racing and identified the key features of a vehicle. We are excited to invite you to see our showcase of these at the end of this half term. Please see the email sent this week for more information!

In our geography lesson this week we located Kenya and learnt about some of the physical features it has.

In English, we have started a new poetry unit based on the book ‘Cherry Moon’. We were particularly inspired by the poem ‘Life is Big’ and write our own versions of these poems which were brilliant.

In maths, we are sharpening our skills in measurement and learnt all about mass this week. We used the balance scales to weigh different items, compared different masses and decided whether objects would be weighed in g and kg. Please find the sheets here: Maths Sheets Week 1

Your child’s NumBots login will also work for Times Table Rockstars. If you haven’t done so already, please start using the app with your child at home.
Reading books: Please make sure these are returned on Friday 3rd May. The phonics books relate to the spellings we have been learning in class so please use them for any spelling practice alongside the reading.
Please make sure you return books on the day. You will incur a £5 fine if this isn’t returned. Your child will be given their new phonics book once the old one is returned.
