This week we have transformed into lawyers, debating whether or not we believe Jack should go to prison for his crimes against the deadly, dangerous Giant. The children came up with a variety of reasons arguing for and against, and they thoroughly enjoyed performing their speeches to the judge and jury. It was great fun! If your child would like to challenge themselves, they can create a newspaper report of the court case. Click on the link for a newspaper report template: newspaper report template
In Maths, we have been focusing on the 3 times tables. we have been looking at multiplication and division. If you would like to do some extra work at home with your child, then click on the link: 3 times table 3 times tables challenge grid
In Topic, we have continued observing our class plants and have enjoyed discussing the factors that are effecting their growth.
Next Week
Next week, we will be carrying out end of term assessments. This is kept very informal and we encourage the children to do their best.
In Maths and English, we will be focusing on recapping our times tables through a variety of fun activities, and playing vocabulary games.
As the children missed Sex and Relationship Education in Year 1 due to lockdown, we will be going through this with them next week. Please can you take a look at the Powerpoint attached for more information: Y1 SRE Parent Presentation . If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to e-mail your child’s class teacher.
Please can you remind your child to not bring toys or Pokenmon cards into school. This is to ensure the children’s focus is on their learning.
We hope you have a wonderful and restful weekend.
