What a wonderful week we have all had! Year 2 have impressed us with their creativity and dedication to learning this week.
We have continued to focus on our topic ‘Bean to Stalk’ and have centered our learning around this. In English, we have been exploring the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We have been using actions and story maps to help familiarise ourselves with the story (we have been blown away with the story retelling in our classrooms – I am sure the kids would love to show you!).
In Maths, we have been working on increasing our fluency in addition, subtraction and multiplication. We have been using a variety of games to help us solidify our knowledge and have been focusing on our journaling skills.
In Topic, we have been focusing on Geography and Science. In Geography, we have been creating our own maps of the school and looking at symbols. In Science, we have been exploring plants further. We have learnt about what plants need to grow and created our own experiments! We cannot wait to see if our predictions are correct!
Next week:
In English, we are going to use our knowledge of Jack and the Beanstalk to invent our own stories.
In Maths, we are going to be looking at increasing our fluency and confidence in multiplication and division.
In Science, we are going to continue to monitor our experiments, making predictions as we go. We will also be looking at the conditions plants need to grow and the different stages of growth.
In Geography, we are going to deepen our understanding on Maps and their uses.
Thank you for all your hard work this week!
