This week the children have had lots of fun exploring our new topic Heroes. We were very lucky to have a special visitor – a real life paramedic from the NHS! They taught us lots of new things and even showed us some of the special equipment they had inside their ambulance.

This week we have thoroughly enjoyed reading the story Real Superheroes. In English, we have been learning how to use commas in a list and how to write captions.

In Topic, we have used adjectives to describe the characteristics of a real life hero and came up with our own hero identity.

In Maths, we have focused on place value with 2-digit numbers and have been exploring different representations.

In Art, we drew patterns and created a 3 layered portrait.

Next week

In Topic we will continue to explore real life heroes and learn about all of the ways that they help us.

In English we will be introducing the book Traction Man.

Finally in Maths we will be comparing number sentences using the ‘equal to’ sign and learning ‘less than’ and ‘greater than’ involving 2-digit numbers.

Please can all children bring in a family photo next week for our classroom displays.

Thank you so much for all your support and positivity this week!
