It has been another wonderful week of learning in year 2. We’ve been learning about “hereditary monarchy”
This week,  children have enjoyed art lesson and they have shown their amazing skills by drawing a portrait of King Henrry VIII using different techniques.

In English, we continued to be inspired by the book, ‘I want my hat back’. This week we focused on using the first-person perspective to draft a narrative.
In phonics, we have been reviewing the /n/ , /oe/ and /er/ sounds. We have been looking at how the words are built and spelt split into their syllables to spell. Words include verse, search, curl, burst, stir.
In maths, we started practicing the concept of adding 2 digits numbers ( crossing 10)  and continued practicing  adding and subtracting 10s.
In STEM, our focus is materials and their properties. This week we investigated the freezing point of different liquids.
