Here we are at the end of another wonderful half term in Year Two at UCPS. We have been delighted with the progress that all children across all three classes have made. Thank you to all families that joined us this morning for Family Friday, as always it was lovely to share the children’s wonderful work and see the pride on their faces as they showed their families the super work they have been doing. We would also like to say a big thank you for all of the contributions made towards our character models.
This week we have been celebrating Book Week through our focus on the book ‘Here we are’ by Oliver Jeffers. Each Year Two class focused on a different character throughout the week. The Skylarks explored a chef who was also an undercover scientist whilst the Robins explored an astronaut and the Swifts a jockey. We thought about the many layers of a character from outward appearance to inner most dreams. We have been very impressed with the work produced by the children.
After the holiday we will begin our new topic ‘Zoology’. We will be focusing on some of the issues faced by our most endangered species and exploring the pros and cons of zoos.
English: non-chronological reports
Maths: Multiplication and division
Phonics: adding suffixes
We hope you have a fantastic half term break,
The Year Two Team.
