It has been a fabulous week – both weather wise and learning wise!
We have started our computing project – learning to program and code our Dash robots!
Summary of learning
In Maths, we have continued our unit of work on measurement. The focus has been measuring capacity and volume using ml/l. Your child should be able to look at a bottle of liquid and find information about capacity on the label. Check that they also know that there are 1,000ml in 1 litre.
In English, we have started a unit of work on poetry. This week they have written poems about animals using repetition and continuous (-ing) verbs.
In phonics, we have continued to focus on the /m/ sound – can your child give you examples of words in which the /m/ sound is represented by the letter(s) m (magic), mn (autumn), mb (lamb) and me (home)? We also reviewed the /f/ sound. Please ensure phonics books are returned on Friday 9th May.
In SPAG, we revisited work on the suffix -ful (hopeful) and suffix – less (hopeless).
