We have had another wonderful week in Year 2 this week! As part of our English learning, we have been learning about possessive apostrophes and the use of time connectives in order to write the next part of the story, ‘The Queen’s Hat’.
In Maths, we have been focusing on the 2 times tables.
For our History lesson this week, we concluded our Monarchy project, applying our historical knowledge of British monarchs throughout the years to write a letter to King Charles III, advising him on how to be an effective monarch.
In PE, we have been learning about balancing on a line, walking forwards and backwards whilst doing so.
First week back after half term (w.c. 20/2/2023):
English: we will begin to learn how to write a persuasive letter.
Maths: we will be working on the 5 times tables.
Phonics: we will explore the spellings of /ie/.
Geography: we will begin our new project, Fenlands and the Kenyan Grasslands.
PE: we will be starting our new unit.
Well done to all of the children for another fantastic half term of learning!
Very best wishes,
The Year 2 Team.
