We have thoroughly enjoyed teaching the children this year and are so proud of all they’ve achieved. It’s hard to believe the end of the school year is already here – we wish them the very best of luck as they move on to Year 3.
Art
In their final art lesson with Ms Smith, the children explored relief sculpture. They then created their own pieces, inspired by everything they have learned about still life throughout the term.
Maths
In maths, we revised how to add and subtract two-digit numbers when crossing a ten. This is a great skill to keep practising over the summer holidays – you can find previous worksheets here and here.
English
In English, the children published their stories and thoroughly enjoyed sharing them with their peers across Year 2 during the picnic.
D&T
The children finally added all the decorations to their puppets. They then evaluated their work and had great fun performing mini puppet shows.
TastEd
The children had great fun making fruit skewers to enjoy at the Year 2 picnic.

Phonics books – please return outstanding books ASAP. There will be a charge of £5 for any books not returned by the 23rd of July.
Move Up Monday – Following Jump Up on Monday afternoon, children will return to their current classroom for normal dismissal. From 3:30-4:00pm, families are invited to visit their child’s new classroom for an informal meet-and-greet with next year’s teacher. This is a brief, welcoming opportunity to see the new space and say hello – we ask that detailed discussions be saved for the new term when teachers have had time to settle in.
School finishes at 13:30 on Wednesday.
Enjoy the weekend
