Wow- what an action-packed week in Year 2 with even more brilliant learning in a fun filled way!
Summary of learning
In maths, we started practicing the concept of subtracting 2 digits numbers (not crossing 10) using the place value mats. Have a go and revisit this week’s maths sheets. W5 – Maths resources FINAL
In English, we completed our stories. Next week we will re-read our writing, and add more detail to both the writing and pictures.
Our grammar focus has been the suffix -‘ment. For example: enjoyment, merriment.
In history, children loved creating a little booklet packed with Royal information about Kings, Queens, noblemen, merchants and peasants.
In Phonics, our focus sound this week is /oo/ and we have been recapping the /v/ sound. As ever, please read with your child daily using both the decodable books and reading for pleasure books. Phonics books will be changed on the morning of Thursday 26th February.
In art, children used oil pastels and water paints to complete their backgrounds ready to complete next week.
