It was wonderful to welcome so many of you to Family Friday to celebrate your children’s learning over this autumn term.
Summary of learning
In Maths, we have started to add three one-digit numbers by making ten. This work will continue into next term.
In English, we have completed our fact files and published them too! They are a fantastic collection of knowledge and a real celebration; we know that you would have enjoyed sharing these with your child.
Next week, we will focus on our personal writing projects.
In Geography, we have concluded our unit of work on London and Cambridge. The final lesson saw the children compare the size, population and transport of these two cities.
In phonics, we have started the focus sound /n/ and are reviewing the /oe/ sound. Phonics books will be collected in on Thursday 18th December. Feel free to return earlier if you think you may forget. Please ensure you are reading these books with your child daily alongside a reading for pleasure book. Start to ask your child questions about what they are reading to support the development of their comprehension skills.
In SPAG, we have reviewed use of the suffix –s- to form the plural of nouns ending in vowel +y ( key becomes keys) and use of the suffix –ies- to form the plural of nouns ending in consonant + y (baby becomes babies).
