We’re all thrilled to be back at school and are ready to dive into a new year full of exciting learning opportunities. Our project this term is monarchy (history) and in RE we are learning about Islam.
This week in English, Children have been immersing themselves in the world of picture books, noticing how language is used, commonalities such as repetition, rhyme and how sometimes pictures can be over a double page spread.
Next week we will start a new unit on story books.
In phonics, we have been reviewing the /n/ sound and our new learning has been focused on the /er/ sound. Words include pearl, turn, twirl, worst, term.
In SPAG, we have been looking at comparative adjectives that use the suffix -er. For example: happier, nicer, sadder, and fatter.
In maths, we have been adding across ten. We will move on to subtracting across ten next week.
