We have had another wonderful week in Year 2 this week! As part of our English learning, we have been learning about subordination and features of instructions in order to prepare for writing our own set of instructions on creating a musical instrument. The children had lots of fun doing some junk modelling as part of this learning journey, creating their very own musical instruments inspired by the story ‘Ossiri and the Bala Mengro’.
In Maths, we have been focusing on linking division and multiplication through the use of arrays, specifically focusing on the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. Example of Maths this week
For our Geography lesson this week, we were learning about the physical features of the Kenyan grasslands.
In PE, we have been continuing our work on ball skills.
Next week:
English: we will write up our set of instructions on how to create a musical instrument.
Maths: we will be working on 2D shape and symmetry.
Phonics: we will explore the spellings of /ar/.
Geography: we will continue learning about the Kenyan grasslands by exploring the human features of a Kenyan village.
PE: we will be continuing our work on ball skills.
Well done to all of the children for another fantastic week of learning!
Very best wishes,
The Year 2 Team.
