It has been a pleasure to welcome all Year 2 children into their new classes!

We have had a busy week learning about our school values and doing lots of activities to explore and practice the meaning of these. We played games, acted out and did some writing on our feelings and how we want our classes to be like.

We learned all about how our brain works and what to do when we face a challenge.

We practised working in groups and our challenge was to build the tallest tower.

Key information:

  • Please could all children have their PE kits in school with the appropriate shoes.
  • Please could all children bring a water bottle.
  • Please could you check that all personal belongings have labels.

Next week:

We will be starting food education next week! Here is the link to the families page if you want to explore some activities together: https://www.tasteeducation.com/tasted-at-home/

Our topic this term is Adventurers and Explorers.

English: our book next week is the Quayside Cat and we will be writing labels, lists and captions. Here is a vocabulary mat with key words from the text: Vocabulary mat

Maths: we will be reviewing number bonds and comparing numbers.

PE: in PE, we will be focusing on personal skills and developing our footwork skills.

You can practise these by logging in with your class account: https://real.jasmineactive.com/home/themes/bike.  Please ask us if you are unsure of the login details.
