Our excitement is building as we continue working on our design project in Design and Technology class. We’ve been diligently preparing our soapbox cars, getting them ready to hit the road. We are so proud to see our children working together as a team, sharing their ideas and listening to their partners.

Now, as we reach the final stages of our projects, our anticipation is growing even more. We are thrilled to showcase the amazing work we have done and can’t wait to see our ideas come to life!

In Geography, we’ve been exploring how people live in the British Fenlands and the Kenyan grasslands. We’re comparing factors like population, climate and wildlife to understand how these two places are similar and different.

In English, we’re further developing our writing skills by exploring our interests with the help of subordinating conjunctions like “because,” “when” and “so,” we’re learning how to connect ideas and make our sentences even more captivating. We began to write our first paragraph and children are super exciting to showcase their amazing writing skills.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zqk37p3

In Maths, we have been exploring the fascinating world of 3D shapes. To make the learning experience more engaging, we went on a 3D shape hunt around the school. During this activity, students identified various 3D shapes in their environment. We focused on understanding how many faces each 3D shape has, enhancing our comprehension of geometric concepts in a hands-on and interactive manner.Maths Week 5 2.3D blog

Math challenge at home: Let’s go on a 3D shape hunt around your house! Look for shapes like squares, circles, triangles, pentagons, hexagons and rectangles. Record your findings and get ready to share them with your teacher and class next week.
Times table website: In our daily maths sessions we have begun learning our times tables. Please find a link here to a website that has times table games to practice: https://www.timestables.co.uk/2-times-table.html Your child’s NumBots login will also work for Times Table Rockstars. If you haven’t done so already, please start using the app with your child at home.
Reading books: Please make sure these are returned on Friday the 31May. The phonics books relate to the spellings we have been learning in class so please use them for any spelling practice alongside the reading.
Please make sure you return books on the day. You will incur a £5 fine if this isn’t returned. Your child will be given their new phonics book once the old one is returned.
PE: Please make sure that PE kits are in school each week and that kits are the correct PE kit for school: white t-shirt, blue or black jumper, blue or black shorts/jogging bottoms/leggings, spare socks and trainers.
