This week in Year 2 has been filled with exciting moments and great learning adventures!

The children had an amazing time during their art class, mastering  their drawing skills  with various techniques. In this session, they continued to focus on creating portraits, and Queen Elizabeth II was their fascinating subject.

In our history lessons, the children have been exploring the life and times of King Henry VIII,   exploring the concepts of power, authority, and the impact of political decisions on individuals and society during his reign.

In English, we continued to be inspired by the book,’ I want my hat back’. This week, our attention was directed towards crafting the remaining sections of our narrative, looking into the details outlined in boxes 5 through 9 of our planning template.

In phonics, we have been looking at the /v/ sound. Words include dive, cave, prove, drive, leave, glove, shove and grieve to mention some.

In maths, we started practicing the concept of  substracting 2 digits numbers ( not crossing 10) using the place value mats.

In STEM, our focus is materials and their properties. This week we investigated the melting  point of different substances.
