We would like to thank all the children in Year 1 for their fantastic learning this week- we have been so impressed with the way the children have learnt so brilliantly this week! We have also been delighted with the way that the children showcased their knowledge of phonics this week- well done Butterflies, Dragonflies and Bumblebees.
During this week we have been exploring how to write verbs in the past tense by adding the suffix ed- the children enjoyed learning the different rules and applying them in their own writing. During our Maths lessons we have been exploring subtraction within 20; we developed our knowledge of how to use a number line to help us work out our answers. What a busy week!
English: we will be using exclamation marks for emphasis and writing letters to a dragon.
Maths: we will be exploring the value of 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p coins.
Science: we will be identifying and describing food chains
History: we will be exploring the history of the Notting Hill carnival
Have a lovely and restful weekend.
