What another week of fantastic learning! All of the adults have continued to be impressed with the children’s imaginations. They have been so imaginative and creative with their stories this week – taking their characters on a journey through dangerous volcanoes full of colourful lava!
In Maths the children have practised counting in steps of 5 in different ways. They have made arrays and solved word problems.
In PE we have continued to practise our throwing and catching skills with small balls and also we practised passing with our feet.
In Science the children looked at different habitats and thought carefully about why the animals were suited to their habitat.
The children have also enjoyed completing their Rainbow Challenges in class.
Next week
English: We will be developing descriptive language by using expanded noun phrases
Phonics: We will be focussing on different sounds during the week.

The children have taken sounds mats home to practise. You may also find this link useful which has a range of activities and stories for your child to read and practise their phonics:
