We would like to thank all the children in Year 1 for their continued, fantastic learning.

During this week the children have been working with Mrs Smith, to create their items for the carnival…..so exciting!

In English, the children enjoyed writing letters to the dragon – they realised that he only wanted to make friends with them! They have been practising using exclamation marks for emphasis.

In Maths, the children have been doing activities to recognise 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p coins. They have compared amounts and practised adding them together.

In Phonics, we practised the different sounds for /o/ spot, Tom, wash, wasp, what

All of the children have had their first session of SRE. Please remember to go over the PANTS rule with the children. This can be accessed through the following link:

Next week:

English: we will be using adjectives to describe a dragon.

Maths: we will continue to make amounts with 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p coins.

All of the children have been given their team colour for Sports Day. Please remember that your child will have to wear that colour T-shirt on Sports Day – Friday 24th June.

Have a lovely, warm and restful weekend.

Warmest wishes,

The Year 1 team
