Good Morning Year 1 Children and welcome to Wednesday’s learning challenges!

Can you see any blossom in your garden or out of your window? ‘Why do these trees blossom, what does it mean?

Reading:Today is the last day reading ‘The Zoo Vet’. Can you re-read the story and try to use expression in your voice to make the story sound interesting and exciting. English: Today it’s time to write our Spring poems! Use your senses to describe what Springtime means to you. What is your favorite part of Spring? Follow the link to find the learning…Once you have written your poem you can decorate the border with some beautiful spring time pictures. Enjoy Spring poem

Maths: Today we are thinking about practical uses for 3D shapes. Would a cube make a good hat? Or could you use a pyramid to hold a cup of tea in? Can you help each person decide which 3D shape would be best for them? Each person needs something different from a football to a roof for a house. Make sure that you justify your answer in order to explain your thinking. You can find the challenge cards here: 3D shapes challenge cards

Topic: This week you should have designed your map, chosen your locations to hide your Easter eggs and designed the eggs that want to hide.Today you are going to create clues for your family so they know where to find the eggs you have hidden. The map is for you to use to hide the eggs and the clues are for the hunters to use to find the hidden eggs. Click here for the activities

Easter holidays: Thursday 2nd April is the start of the Easter holidays and there will be no lessons during this time. Online learning will commence again on Monday 20th April. For your Easter challenge, please see two lessons for a song the teachers composed in 2017. It is called Release the Imagination.  Your challenge is to learn it with your child – and we hope for a concert of voices when we return.
