This Week

Firstly, thank you for everyone able to attend sports day this week. I’m sure we can all agree, the children did fantastically, and we are proud of all their efforts.

English

In RE, we have been learning all about the festival Rosh Hashanah. During English, we wrote a non-chronological report based on this festival. We focused on what the festival is, how it is celebrated and what they eat during this festival. Our focus was capital letters, full stops and using conjunctions. Here is a template of a non-chronological report for your child to complete at home English 7.7.23. They can write about anything they want eg. their favourite animal, space or a sports person.

Maths

In maths this week, we have been learning all about 2D and 3D shapes. Can your child go around the house and write a list of all the different 2D and 3D shapes they can find. How do they know it is that shape? How many faces, vertices or sides does it have?

Next week

In Maths next week, we will be focusing on money.

In English, we will be free writing again with a focus on capital letters and full stops. We will also be creating an ‘all about me’ page and poem to send to our new teacher.
