English: We have been non-chronological reporters this week, learning to identify animals by their physical features, what they eat, their habitat and interesting facts about them.
Can your child explain to you the following language: habitat, omnivore, herbivore, carnivore
We have also had some very exciting new additions to our classes, in the form of Caterpillars! They have been very well looked after so far, some of the Dragonflies even took time to read stories to them.
Maths: We have been composing teen numbers and them placing them on blank number lines.
Can you create a number line (from 10 – 20) using a skipping rope and number cards 11 – 19. Estimate the position of the number, based on your teen knowledge. Can you start with the number 16 on the blank line.
Next week:
STEM WEEK! – to prepare for this, go on a walk in your local area and see which animals you can spot. Can you name them?
English: Identifying wild life within the UCPS grounds and creating ‘who am I?’ riddles based around their features.
Maths: We will be doing outdoor maths learning next week focusing on shape space and measure
Topic: We will be observing seasonal changes and how to measure the weather, creating weather diaries to record weather patterns each day.
*Please ensure your child has wellies/outdoor boots on the welly rack for all of next week*

-Due to an oversubscription of the KS1 premier football club on a Monday, Premier will potentially create an additional football club for year 1 if there is enough interest. This club will be held on a Friday afternoon, for year 1 children only, from 3.15 to 4.15 and will cost £5 per session. There will be a minimum requirement for the club to be sustainable and therefore it is important that you contact premiere directly to register your interest. Please send your enquiry to: tstevens@premier-education.com
