All Year One’s have had a fabulous week!
Phonics
In Phonics this week, we have continued learning the same sound different spelling of ‘ea’ <ai> <ay> <a_e> <ea> . Phonics 4.11.22
English
In English this week, we have been writing sentences using different punctuation (. ? !) and using the word ‘and’.
If you would like to continue writing adjectives from last week, then here is the attachment again to continue to work on at home English 11.11.22 . To extend this activity, your child can continue to write a riddle or sentence about the animal which includes the adjectives; ensure there is a capital letter, clear finger spaces and a full stop at the end. Bring this into class to celebrate!
Maths
In Maths this week, we have continued to build on exploring part-part-wholes. We have been focusing on numbers 6-10 and all the different possibilities. If you would like to consolidate this learning then the Maths activity sheet from last week is attached here. Maths 11.11.22.
Reading books- New Update! ‘One sound each week- change books weekly on a Friday morning’
We hope you are all enjoying reading with your child and finding the book-marks helpful. Please see poster on classroom door for instructions on how to use the bookmark. Please can you ensure all items stay inside the folder for when we change them. Please ensure books are brought to school every Friday morning as this will be the only opportunity for changing them. This will also give an opportunity to become familiar with the following week’s sound.
Next week
In Phonics next week, we will introduce the ‘ee’ sound. CE/HF words: see, he, she, me, we, be, three, keep, tree.
In English next week, we will be focusing on ‘information texts’.
In Math we will be continuing to focus on numbers 6-10 and all the different possibilities.
Thank you to those who have already paid for our trip to attend the Zoology Museum. Permission is automatically given to attend once payment is made. Unfortunately, there are not enough helpers to support this trip yet. We are still in need for volunteers in Dragonflies and Bumblebees, please let your class teacher know if you are able to support.
