It has been a busy week, with our Forest School adventures, our skipping week challenges and the creation of our very own seed packets. We have been working really hard and have been practicing our skipping in PE and at playtimes. We have also been exploring a range of plants flowers and animals during our Forest School activities and have been using conjunctions such as and, because in our instruction writing. Can you try and write some instructions using these at home?

Next week in English we will be creating our own diary entries and creating some beautiful bird’s eye maps of our allotment, creating our own garden plans.

In Math’s we will be solving and categorising one more and one less equations. We will also be creating our very own equations that fit into these categories. Our outdoors Math’s challenge will be measuring the height of a range of plants using standard and non-standard measurements. Could you try this at home or on a walk?

In Topic Year 1 will be exploring vegetables, how they feel, their different shapes, colors and taste. We will be continuing to learn new words to name the different parts of plants and we will also be exploring what different parts of plants we eat.

Next weeks phonics sounds will be o_e (phone) and u_e (cube). Can you practice writing some of these words at home over the weekend?

Well done Year 1. We are looking forward to another fantastic week of learning!
