The children have enjoyed their first week of STEAM, and are very excited about the carnival that is happening next Friday.

In English we read the story, ‘Bubble Trouble’ by Tom Percival, and used this as our theme for exploring bubbles. They used adjectives to describe bubbles. In Science, the children made their own wands and investigated which wand made the biggest bubble,

The children have been engaged in so many creative activities, using bubbles – you can try these at home too: They have also been making their masks for the carnival.

Bubble–Bubble–Bubble–Pop!

In Maths, the children have continued to learn about time, and practised telling the time:  0’clock and half past.

In Phonics, the children have been learning the alternate spellings for ee.

The children also had TastEd and made a fruit kebab, using the sense of sight, to create a group rainbow, before they enjoyed eating it!

Next week, the children will continue with STEAM week, exploring more activities linked to bubbles. They will also have a dance session for the carnival.

We are so excited to see so many of you joining our carnival event on Friday 15th July, as we celebrate dancing around the streets of Eddington. On that day, children will wear bright colours – they can wear their Sports Day T-shirt colours, their bright T-shirts they created earlier in the year, or any other bright clothing they may have!

It will be very warm next week, so please remember that your child should have a sun hat, sun cream applied,  and a water bottle.

We are still in need of helpers to walk with the children during the carnival, please inform your class teacher if you can help.

Thank you to all the parents that attended Family Friday, and saw  the amazing learning the children have been doing, this afternoon.

Have a lovely warm weekend.
