It’s been another wonderful week of learning in Reception this week!

Phonics – Our phonics this week recapped Unit 5. This included the sounds k, l, u and r.

To continue this learning at home, you could support your child to read and write the words: red, lad, lip, leg.

Drawing Club – We have been watching the classic animation, ‘Popeye’, using the character of Popeye as inspirational to draw out very own explorer inspired character. Some of the vocabulary we explored as part of this were words and phrases such as ‘gulp down’, ‘muscular’, ‘weakness’, ‘crush’ and ‘explode’.

Maths – In Maths, we focused on numerosity and drawing attention to the purpose of counting.

Project – The children have really enjoyed reading and learning about inspirational people of the past, with a focus on the lives of Amelia Earhart and Neil Armstrong.

Art Skill of the Week – In our craft areas, we have been folding paper to create paper aeroplanes.

Next week, we will be learning all about the lives of Ella Fitzgerald and Mozart and exploring their music.

Thank you for another wonderful week of learning – have a fantastic weekend!
