Thank you to all of our Reception children for another wonderful week!

The first full week of full days is always a tricky one and lots of us are feeling a little bit sleepy but we all still tried our best. Our focus text, The Colour Monster, really helped us to think about all of those big feelings that we were experiencing this week. We began to understand that it is ok to feel upset or angry and how we can deal with those emotions. Together, we considered things that make us feel each emotion and thought about our own experiences.

In Phonics, all of the children have impressed us so much. We are all now doing our phonics session daily and the children have quickly picked up the routines and expectations. They write during every session and are all becoming familiar with our Unit 1 sounds (a, i, m, s, t). If you would like to practise your letter formation at home then try using this video-

Outside, the children have helped to organise our new mud kitchen resources. We are always looking for donations of old pots, pans, cake tins, spoons etc. so please do bring anything that you are able to donate. If you are out and about at the weekend, you could also help us by collecting conkers, acorns, pine cones, feathers, shells and leaves.

Changing for PE will begin on Monday 26th September so if you have no already please do bring your child’s PE kit into school.
