It has been another wonderful week of learning in Reception this week – our penultimate one before half term, how the time has flown!

Phonics – Our phonics this week we looked at Unit 11, focusing on sounds such as /sh/, /ch/ and /tch/.

To continue this learning at home, you could support your child to read and write the words: ‘fish’, ‘shelf’ and ‘shift’.

Maths – In Maths, we focused on identifying whether a representation showed 6 or not 6.

Project – We continued with our project, ‘Building the World’ and the children have been continuing to create designs for buildings that they want to feature in Botley city.

Art Skill of the Week – In groups, children have continued to take their designs to the Art Room and work with Mrs Smith to make their buildings using junk modelling.

We also had a particularly exciting week with some wonderful new equipment for our outdoor area, including a vehicle, a boat, a stage and Mrs Durning’s Reading Shed!

Next week, we will have Family Friday at 2:30pm, where we will showcase our wonderful creations for Botley City. The children will have lots of lovely junk modelling to bring home – so you may have some large creations to take home with you!

Well done to all of the children for a wonderful week of learning!
