Farewell and Thank you:
This is the last blog post of the year before the summer holiday! Gosh how time has flown by…It feels like only yesterday that the children were showing us their new school uniform and first pair of school shoes! We wanted to take the time to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to all of the children and families in Reception this year. It has been a pleasure getting to know all of you and supporting the children’s learning throughout the year. We wish everyone a wonderful summer break and luck in the future.
We also wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the children this year. The Mystery Readers, parents who came with us to Shepreth, weekly volunteers, Class Reps, parents who have supported us with whole school assemblies, costumes for the Nativity and much more. Your commitment to the school community throughout the year has been wonderful!
Reminders:
– School will finish at 1:30pm on the last day 21st July.
– Please remember to take your child’s PE kit home next week after our last PE session.
– Please put a plastic carrier bag into your child’s book-bag so that they can take everything home from their tray on the last day of term.
This Week:
It has been a busy week for Reception this week with lots of thinking ahead to Year 1 next year.
On Monday we had lots of fun challenging ourselves at Sports Day. A big thank you to Year 3 for organising all of the events and supporting our learning.
We also had two picnics this week, it was super to meet the new Reception children and to learn more about our new classes for Year 1. We met our new teachers on Jump Up day playing games and finding out about our new classrooms.
To finish off our super Future themed topic Mad Science came in to give us a rocket display. We learnt all about air pressure and the things that rockets need to launch. We all made and launched our own rockets!
Thank you to all of the parents who supported our Reception class bake sales who enabled the children to have this wonderful experience at the end of the year.
Next Week:
Our last week in Reception! We will be spending some time thinking a bit more about Year 1. We will be writing letters to our new teachers and building our dream classrooms from junk modelling material. We will have a celebration assembly on Wednesday and will be reflecting on all of our successes this year.
