Once upon a time there were three super spectacular Reception classes called Acorns, Pumpkins and Sunflowers, they WOWED all their grown ups with the super work they did on the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’.
Thank you to all the children in Reception for their wonderful learning this week- you have been great! This week we learnt the story of the Three Little Pigs using story maps and actions, we then enjoyed making our own story maps in playful learning. We investigated which materials would make a waterproof roof, we did lots of predicting and testing… fantastic learning! In Maths we have been learning how to ‘double’ and have been using mathematical language such as ‘equal’ ‘fair’ ‘more’ ‘less’ ‘fewer’ ‘even’. Outside, using large construction and ‘cement’, we built a Pig’s house that we could sit inside! A huge thank you for all the donations of paper plates and yogurt pots, we have thoroughly enjoyed making our 3D Pig masks and went onto a further challenge of writing a speech bubble too! We have had ninety little piggies chanting, “Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin!”
