If the shoe fits…!

This week we have been exploring the story of Cinderella. We have been writing invitations to the royal ball and some of us have been challenging ourselves to write our invite in character as prince charming himself!

In maths we have been exploring measure, looking at length and height language and using nonstandard units of measure to measure a range of items including Cinderella’s shoe!

Also excitingly this week, Mr Biddulph sent a letter all the way from his office.

He explained how he is lonely up there all on his own and would love to see reception’s writing to brighten up his day. A post-box has been created so that the children can ‘post’ there writing to Mr Biddulph daily. I can assure you that seeing the writing has brought a smile to Mr Biddulph’s face!

Woodwork has also been going really well, so far the children have shown a great awareness for safety and are really enjoying creating their own ornaments.

Home learoing:
Why not write smoething for Mr Biddulph to decorate his office with! It can be anything from a labelled drawing to a story book. Be as creative as you wish!

Next week our story is ‘Little Red Riding Hood.’ Throughout the week we will be using a range of materials and tools to create our own ‘deep, dark forest’ scenes and using them to act out the story. We will also be exploring the skill of estimation during our maths lessons and activities, so get your guessing skills ready. Outdoors we will also have a range of activities available from exploring printing in different ways to designing and building our own cottages for grandma.

Near the end of the term we intend to e our classrooms for the next topic with the children, if you could donate any of the following materials we would highly appreciate it:
