2nd October 2020

Our teachers say: We have had a very busy week thinking about the book- ‘Have you filled a bucket today?’ The children have made us very proud this week- they have filled so many buckets with their kind thoughts, words and actions. They thought very carefully about the ways that they could be bucket fillers and showed lots of empathy for other peoples feelings.
The children say: We have had a wonderful week in Pumpkins, Acorns and Sunflowers Nests, we enjoyed being real life bucket fillers and thought very carefully about the ways that we can fill the buckets of all our friends and families. We have been looking at ‘s’ and ‘a’ in our Phonics lessons- we are trying hard to remember the formation rhymes… Remember- slither down the snake to make ‘a’ and  round the apple and down the leaf to make an ‘a’. We are excited to learn two new sounds next week!
Next week: Our book focus will be ‘Colour Monster’. We are going to think about different emotions and discuss how various colours make us feel. there will be lots of other exciting and creative to choose from activities!

Sounds: In Phonics our sounds will be ‘t’ and ‘p’.                                                                                                                                                         Maths: In Maths we will be working on our counting skills as we learn about cardinality and subitising.
Gentle reminder:  Please be mindful of the changing weather and send your child into school with a coat everyday.

Remember our school times are changing slightly from Monday. In the morning the Reception doors will be open from 8.35am to 8.45am and in the afternoons the doors will be open from 3.10pm-3.20pm. The main gate will still open at 3pm in the afternoons so grown ups can be outside ready for doors opening at 3.10pm.
