Our Teacher’s Say…

We are so proud of the start to school our Pumpkins, Acorns and Sunflower children have made. After the home visits last week we have enjoyed getting to know the children and forming our new classes. The children have thrived in the smaller half-day sessions and have already began to form some wonderful new friendships. We are super impressed, in how the children have managed the transition and free-flow in each nest area. Ask your child which is their favourite nest. Today, we also successfully celebrated our fisit ever lunchtime together, with great enjoyment over the picnic in the classroom. They have settled wonderfully; thank you for your support in preparing them at home for the transition to school so well.

Our Learning This Week:
We have been learning lots of different routines and expectations this week as we familiarise ourselves with our new environment.  We have also learnt about the different resources in each nest room as well as the huge outdoor learning space we have.

Q) Ask your child which is their favourite nest inside and what they enjoyed playing with outside.

We have been making our teacher’s proud by showing them what we can do already, such as recognising our names and completing self-portraits.

Next Week

Our book focus will be “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”. We will be going on a quest to find different members of the senior leadership team.  This will really help us to get to know our way around the school- how exciting! “We’re going on a SLT hunt, we’re going to catch all of them. What a beautiful day. We’re not scared”.

In our Phonics we will be using our ears to really tune into different sounds.

Gentle Reminders
Please remember to send your children to school with a clearly named coat and wellington boots.

Thank you to all the parents that were providing snack at the beginning of the week. School snack has now been delivered so as parents you no longer have to provide this. In addition, please ensure that your child brings a named water bottle that just contains water each day.

Please can you remind your child/children to not play with the resources at the beginning and end of the day.

Dr Biddulph, our Headteacher, really enjoyed meeting most of you and thanks you for your open and thoughtful contributions during his online presentation.

See you all on Monday! 8:30.
