A wonderful week of spooky celebrations, exploring stories such as Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson and making our own spiders using handprints and paint; we also created 3D spiders using pipe-cleaners!

We have been revisiting our sounds from last half term, the children have shown how confident they are with the following sounds and words:

/a/ /i/ /m/ /s/ /t/

at- it- sit – sat – mat

The Firebird, is the text that the whole school has been exploring as part of our arts week! Miss Johal and Miss Bray put together a wonderful puppet show with handmade puppets and musical instruments, everyone loved it and asked for an encore! Ask your little ones about the story, can they remember the characters? It was lovely to see some of the children engaging with the story during playful learning as they pretended to be firebirds and even had a go at putting together their own puppet show.

On Friday, we are taking part in a whole-school parade! We will be wearing our handmade headbands, we have been delving into the wonderful world of watercolour and watching how the red, orange and yellow paints work together to make a fire-like pattern! We added feathers to accentuate the firebird effect!

All parents should have tapestry logins now, please ensure that you have activated your logins as there is important information and observations about your child’s learning. If you are having trouble with tapestry please let a member of staff know.

Have a great weekend,
