It’s time for a celebration of story and legend – this week our focus will be on stories from around the world, the grand finale of our topic ‘Once Upon a Time’ before a week’s break for half term. Well done on all of your amazing learning!

Group Learning: This week we shall be reading a range of stories exploring the concept of ‘morals’ or ‘what the story is trying to tell us about’. We begin with “Blow Your Nose Big Bad Wolf” By Steve Smallman. We have also assigned for you an audiobook ‘Tell Me a Story 2: Animal Magicon GetEpic which will share some fantastic fairytales from far away places for you to enjoy.

Phonics: Our learning videos will again revisit polysyllabic and tricky troll words and give lots of opportunities for children to read, write and apply their knowledge in sentences.

Maths: We explore the composition of 5 over the learning videos this week, finding as many ways to make 5. We will also introduce part-whole diagrams as a tool for exploring the composition of numbers and deeply embedding number bonds to 5.
