This week the children have had a wonderful first week back in school. They have been exploring counting actions, objects and sounds and have also been introducing a range of new sounds. It would be wonderful if you could have a go at practicing saying and writing some of these sounds at home b/c/g/ and h/.
On Monday, we will begin our new theme ‘The Show Must Go On’! We will explore dance and music from around the world. This term will also include the performance at Storey’s Field Centre to support us in learning a range of performance skills for our own show in December! You should now have the option on ParentPay to make a voluntary payment towards trip Wednesday 17th November 2021.
Next week, we will be introducing the text Kitchen Disco by Clare Foges and Al Murphy. We will explore different music and enjoy showing off our funky dance moves.
In Maths, we will continue to work on our counting skills and number formation. During playful learning, the children will also have opportunities to explore weight and length as we compare different characters from our key text.
The children will be very excited hear that we will begin our PE lesson next week. If you have not already done so, please bring your child’s PE kit including black shorts, white t-shirts and also pack some trainers or plimsolls, all to be left at school. Please can that all items of clothing have been labelled and that your children wear clothing they are able to change independently on these days.
We will start to learn the songs for our festive production soon. If you would like to listen to them at home they are all available on YouTube. Unfortunately, we will not be able to do our performance in person however the children will be given the opportunity to star in a film instead! You will then be able to have a family night in to enjoy watching your little star’s performance. More information will be shared shortly.
Have a wonderful weekend,
The Reception Team
