Meadows have had a wonderful time sharing another fabulous traditional tale ” The Three Billy Goat Gruff”
They have been developing their map skills and creating amazing 3D story maps using key positional language and puppets.
Meadow have been learning about different sizes including big and small, full and empty, long and short, little or one and a lot or more, far and close as well as thick and thin.
Are all goats the same? Do they only eat grass? We have been learning all about goats and not only the Three Billy Goat Gruff such as Mountain goat, American Pygme, Cashmere goat…… Children had an amazing time trying to guess the sound of different goats.
Next week
Group time: In the story, the troll was unkind to the goats and wouldn’t let them cross his bridge. What might the troll have said or done to show kindness to the goats?
UW: Do you know any famous bridges? Let’s go around the school to try and find one or maybe more, What do they look like ? What are they made off?
Math: using craft material and junk , can you make a long model? A short model? A big model? A small model? What about middle sized?
Ways to help children at home: Can you compare objects from around the house or outside. Ask your child if the object is longer, the same length or shorter? Order the objects.
Have a wonderful and restful weekend!
