The children have been doing wonderfully this week settling in to nursery and learning about their new routines. We have seen lots of new friendships forming and children learning how to play alongside new faces!
We read a colourful story called Mixed, to talk about different colours and different families. Children have explored the three prime colours to do some mixing at the craft table.
We have had a few very exciting singing sessions with the parachute, shaking it, holding it still or looking at its beautiful colours while lying underneath!
We are aware, that transitions can be challenging, so we try and make sure that we support these changes with songs and pictures if we can.
We are uploading some of the songs we sing during our day, you and your child might find them helpful when talking about their day at nursery.
Any time we would like children’s attention, we count back 3,2,1 and ring a chime. We all hold our wriggly fingers up to show we are listening.
When we invite children to the carpet, we sing our “Find a shape, find a colour” song.
For our tidy up song, we support our words with some Makaton signs.
We sing “It’s time to say goodbye” after our morning and afternoon group times, to support children who stay for their lunches.
REMINDERS:
Please make sure your child has enough nappies and wipes during the week. We have trays to store them so feel free to send in a bigger packet.
Our snack basket is near the door, we welcome contributions of fruit and veg or plain crackers throughout the week.
The gate closes at 8.40 due to safeguarding reasons, if you arrive later, please come via the main office.
We are looking for DONATIONS of old calculators, cameras, phones for our role play area, we remove the old batteries and children really love playing with them.
Have a lovely weekend,
Nursery team.
